The Good Shepherd Centre provides support for newly arrived families and individuals, particularly from Eastern Europe – and to refugees and asylum seekers. They have OISC trained advisers for when people are applying for EUSS.
The Good Shepherd Centre offers :
- Morning Prayer + coffee, general discussion and social support
- Drop-In : one to one support; help with accessing education, health and other services; translation, if necessary
- a reporting centre for race hate crime
- free classes for English, computers and parenting
- Parent and Toddler Group
- a welcome to asylum seekers and refugees – a place of safety
- outreach support to schools
- occasional social events for newly arrived families
