The Millside Centre is a new community centre based in the heart of Bradford serving vulnerable people in our locality. The project was birthed after conducting in-depth research in the local area which identified some of the pressing needs, deprivation and gaps in services but also highlighted a demand for a new community space to help improve the lives of local people in our diverse community.
Job Club with Maqsood:
We are continuing to provide employability sessions for those still wanting to access our job club from home such as CV building, help with Job search, job applications, interview techniques and goal setting as well as mentoring support. Every Monday 1pm – 3pm

Our ESOL (Pre – Entry) beginner English classes in partnership with Safety First Training Centre, are running here socially distanced every Wednesday 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.
Our Millside Voices community choir has moved online due to lockdown, we are now working closely with a local care home to facilitate sing along sessions for their residents. During the Covid-19 pandemic, people living in care homes have been especially isolated and lacking creative outlets that is easy and safe to access. Online Song-Sessions for Care Homes aims to provide a valuable feeling of social interaction through the medium of music and singing. Sing with Me will be weekly, hour-long online Zoom music singalong session to be broadcast in Formations Care Home, Bradford.
Local Focal a photography project with sessions every Thursday from 12:30 – 2: 00pm. It’s aimed to teach the art and skill of photography as well as learning how to tell or capture good stories from photography.
We are tomorrow’ is the Millside youth project focusing on confidence building, exploring of dreams and a platform to speak up about issues that affect them and learn new skills. They meet every Thursday at 5pm – 6pm on zoom or social distanced in the centre or at the Park. Our refugee Welcome Café may not be open to the public during this lockdown but we have been busy cooking a two course hot meal for some of our destitute asylum seekers and refugee individuals and families, working in close partnership with InnChurches who deliver fresh fruits and veg and other food items which we use to pack additional food parcels to keep people going. City Valley Church have provided a dedicated team of volunteers to deliver hot meals and other essential items to our destitute refugee and asylum seeking families. Our volunteers are always excited to have this weekly opportunity to consistently show up, intentionally build relationship with those who are extremely and isolated during this time which is making a huge difference. Families Forward, based at Millside on alternate Saturdays dedicated to helping parents and children cope with the aftermath of separation and divorce. Our expert team of social workers and experienced project workers have many years of experience in helping children maintain their relationship with the parents or relative who does not live with them. We offer a range of services to families undergoing stress or experiencing breakdown. Our main service is helping children to cope with the impact of family breakdown, caused by their parents’ separation or divorce, and we offer a range of services to enable children to have contact with a parent in a neutral and relaxed environment.
